FAAR
formerly UKL2 (Frontantriebsarchitektur)FAAR (Frontantriebsarchitektur, successor to UKL2) is BMW's transversely mounted front-wheel platform for the smaller models. As with CLAR, it is a combustion floor that also carries an electric variant: the iX1 and iX2 stand alongside petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid X1s and X2s off the line. The entry version eDrive20 is notably front-wheel drive — unusual for BMW — while the xDrive30 adds a second motor at the rear.
FAAR is the EV platform of BMW Group, in production since 2022, with a 400V architecture. The FAAR platform carries 2 models from 1 brand. The WLTP range of the current variants on FAAR runs from 468 to 516 km.
Pick the car first, then the version — chemistry, battery and drive differ per version.
